On October 13, join Mike de la Rocha at Medicine for Nightmares in San Francisco’s Mission District for an intimate conversation with Community College Educator Lorena Gonzalez about his USA Today bestselling memoir, Sacred Lessons: Teaching My Father How to Love. Together, they’ll explore masculinity, identity, and healing generational wounds, as Mike shares what he’s learned over the past year bringing Sacred Lessons to communities across the country through his book tour and iHeartMedia-produced podcast.

Lorena Gonzalez is San Francisco born and raised transnationally in SF's TL, La Mission and Michoacan Mexico. Lorena has been a Bay Area community college educator for 27+ years as a counselor, La Raza Studies and Ethnic Studies profesora. She’s passionate about uplifting cultura, community organizing and social justice work. In addition, Lorena is a 20+year Aztec danzante cultural keeper, founding member of Chicano Elegance Foundation, CDMX Chicanx Sin Fronteras community, and is also active in the lowrider scene.
