Discover four decades of visual art by Shizue Seigel, best known as a writer and director of Write Now! SF Bay. At age 80, she shares paintings, prints and mixed media on her creative journey as a Japanese American woman to 1979 to the present. She explores heritage and history and the invisibility of women and of Asian/Asian Americans, reversing the white gaze with sly observations on the colonizing mindset. She takes us on a journey through darkness, light and the colors between, returning to ancestral wisdoms and the hope of tomorrow.
