Please join us for our film screening Sunday March 12th 6PM at Medicine for Nightmares located at 3036 24th Street, San Francisco, CA.
The Iranian film “The Day I Became a Woman” by Marzieh Meshkini, tells the interrelated struggle of three women against societal limits and expectations at different stages of their lives.
This film screening highlights a woman Iranian director and calls for solidarity with Iranian women fighting for freedom. The slogan Jin, Jiyad, Azadi is a Kurdish feminist slogan meaning Women, Life, Freedom and was adopted following the death of 22-year-old, Mahsa Jina Amini and a national uprising against police brutality and decades of severe social repression. Women at the forefront of this revolution are fighting everyday for basic human rights under the dictatorship, the Islamic Regime.
