Protect Me is a two piece noise/beat duo hailing from Van Nuys,CA the heart of the SFV. Blurring genres of punk, hiphop and house they have been involved in the 818/LA underground music and art scene for the past decade.
Their new ep BOOTZ is a prime example of how experimental their sound is w songs like "Jump" mixing 303 beats w Futuristic,almost dystopian pop hooks that will give you a sense of nostalgia with a glimpse into the future.
Chris "L7" Cuadrado is a culture worker & propagandist from Inglewood, CA. L7 uses words, sights, and sounds to further radical and critical thought. L7 draws from the aesthetic and political traditions of revolutionaries, agitators, and poor peoples movements from across the globe. L7 is committed to creating work that reflects the struggle of colonized and oppressed people, while aligning with their movements for liberation, self-determination, and decolonization. soledad con carne (he/they) is known as the poet laureate of the San Fernando Valley. They are a first generation Chicanx poet, mixed media artist, and co-editor of the literary journal Acid Verse. Originally from the heart of the Valley, soledad now represents the 818 on Ohlone Chochenyo land in the Bay Area. Their poetry covers topics like mental illness, taking the bus, punk activities, and loneliness all while exploring their place in the San Fernando Valley and now Oakland.
