Manuel Rocha Jr reads from his book "The Pain Of AWarrior"

Manuel Rocha Jr Will be reading his flower poems, a traditional style of Nahuatl poetry also known as Flor Y Canto.

In 2022, he published “The Pain Of A Warrior,” The first book in a project for volume cycle, which was honored at the 2022 International Latino book awards. Rocha, also known as Two Captive Warrior, will also be previewing excerpts  from the soon to be published second volume as well as sharing the thoughts, dreams, prayers, and research that went into the creation of his work. Following the reading, he will be available to answer questions and signed copies of “The Pain Of A Warrior.”

Manuel Rocha Jr, also known as Two Captive Warrior, was raised in Morgan Hill California, and is a father of four children. An Aztec dancer for a number of years, Rocha is also a longtime member of the Presidential Medal of Arts recipient Luis Valdez’s, El Teatro Campesino de Aztlan, which is based in San Juan Bautista California. Rocha studied Mesoamerican music, history, and philosophy under Noe Yaocoatl Montoya until the maestro’s death in 2021.
