Tonight join author Radhika Singh with comrades Mayuran Tiruchelvam and Rama Ali Kased in conversation about Earthly Playing Field—a speculative tale connecting ongoing People's movements against global imperialism through a queer, Sufi love story.
Radhika Singh lives, writes and teaches in Queens, New York. Her fiction speculates on the presence of magic in this world, the connection to spirit and consciousness, and the power of the people to organize for collective liberation.
Dr. Rama Ali Kased is an Associate Professor in Race and Resistance Studies at SFSU. A seasoned community organizer, she has founded organizations including Arab Woman in Active in Arts in Media (AWAAM) in NYC and the Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC) in SF Bay Area.
Mayuran Tiruchelvam is an Assistant Professor at SFSU’s School of Cinema. His filmmaking is fueled by a vision for a more compassionate and openhearted world, and his activist work focuses on the abolition of prisons and policing, as well as solidarity-building between global communities in resistance.
