Linda Ravenswood Book Launch

Join us on 18 February for the SF book launch of Linda Ravenswood's Cantadora -- Letters from California (Eyewear London/ Black Spring Press Group) 

Celebrated in the US and the UK for perspectives on women’s stories of migration and immigration, Linda‘s new collection is a memory map of The West and gathers favourite San Francisco writers K.R. Morrison Peter Kline Colleen McKee Paul Corman Roberts Tongo Eisen-Martin Cassandra Dallet Marc Zegans Natasha Dennerstein as well as LA poets Brian Sonia Wallace Bernadette McComish and Tanya Ko Hong to read pieces from the new Collection and from their own new work. 

Linda is an Oxford Prize in Poetry winner from Los Angeles and the current Edwin Markham Prize in Poetry recipient (SJSU), selected by US Poet Laureate emeritus Juan Felipe Herrera. 

Educated at CalArts (BFA 2007) and Mount St. Mary’s College (MA 2009) with a PhD abd from the Pacifica Graduate Institute (2014) Linda’s arts praxes include collaboration, teaching, & curating arts events & publications. She is founding editor in chief of The Los Angeles Press (est.2018). 

Linda's recent projects include collaborations on 3 upcoming books, and introducing the renewed Poets Café programme on KPFK in Los Angeles (Wednesday’s at 2:00 p.m. ) She is the  founder of the poet laureate progrramme in Glendale, California.
