The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco (LJYE), now in its 23rd year, will offer its first performance of 2024 with  new directors Alex Farrell and Daniel Riera, both alumni of the ensemble. Founded by John Calloway, Sylvia Ramirez and Arturo Riera in 2001, the LJYE has always been free, accessible and inclusive to a diversity of students in the Mission and throughout the Bay Area. The group has performed yearly at Carnaval San Francisco, numerous times at the San Jose Jazz Summerfest, and at various music and cultural events throughout the Bay Area.  The performance today will showcase the newest edition of the ensemble as they prepare for future concerts in 2024.
