Join us for an evening of fuego spoken word with Jozer Guerrero, Paul Flores, and JT Theodore!

Jozer Guerrero is a poet, actor and lead vocalist for Xicano Funk band Los Mocochetes. Jozer has been performing since he was a teenager and his work has appeared on HBO, MTV, PBS, American Theater magazine and Ted Talks!! Jozer is also an educator as works with young people teaching poetry and theater. Paul S. Flores creates plays, oral narratives, and spoken word about transnationality and citizenship that spur and support societal movements that lead to change. Flores’ ability to paint a vivid picture of the bi-cultural Latino experience is shaped by his personal background and experience growing up in Chula Vista, California near the Mexican border.As a San Francisco artist of Mexican and Cuban-American heritage, Paul S. Flores has built a national reputation for interview-based theater. He is a Doris Duke Artist Award winner with commissions from Creative Capital, La Peña Cultural Center, Su Teatro, MAP Fund, Pregones Theater, National Performance Network, SF Arts Commission, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, New Jersey Performing Arts Center and many more. He teaches theater at the University of San Francisco.

jxtheo (j-thee-o), also known as Jean (JT) Teodoro, is an environmentalist, internationalist, poet and educator. They were born in QC, Philippines, and raised in both QC & Unceded Ramaytush Ohlone Land (San Francisco, CA). They began Bayanihan Boxing – a program with a holistic approach to training in the sweet science. They are a vocalist of the hip-hop and rock band Boondock Squad. They currently teach Filipino language at a public high school. They have also worked as an instructor in social sciences, creative writing, literature and boxing. The intention of their work is to inspire proficiency in the language of revolutionary action. Their debut publication, a graphic poetry book titled ‘Paper Trail of FREEDOM’, is scheduled to be released in February 2023.
