As part of the MAPP, this event is a tribute to one of MAPP's founders, Manuel Trujillo. We honor the cultural work Manuel promoted in the Mission as a Mexican immigrant and artist who reshaped and reimagined the Mission. 

Manuel not only co-founded MAPP, but he also brought other projects to the Mission, such as Noches Bohémias and, most recently, Dueto Arte, with Artemisa. His passion for making spaces and music accessible for our Mission community created community ties in San Francisco and beyond. In Jalisco, Manuel was born and raised in a family of musicians, whose values and stories cross borders, as the genres Manuel played, especially ranchero and corrido, which he often delighted us with.

The event's program will have performances by Manuel's family, Pablo and Martha Trujillo, and friends such as Alfredo Gómez, Enrique Ramiréz, Francisco Ferrer, Erika Cruces, Ricardo Torres, and many more, who will be playing a repertoire of the various genres to remember Manuel's generous work that enriched our community with familiar and new tunes, a passion Manuel shared around our barrio.
