jimmy vega is the child of mexican immigrants, a chicanx los angeles born and raised poet, writer, educator, artist, and curator. their debut poetry collection will be published by what books press in 2025. vega holds an mfa from the school of critical studies, creative writing program at calarts, where they co-created the mfa in creative writing’s hyperlink reading series and a b.a. in english with a concentration in creative writing from ucla. their poems have appeared or are forthcoming in broken lens journal, diode, furious pure magazine, and elsewhere. in 2023 their work was on view at the reef los angeles as part of the group exhibit, spell/ing. vega is a former 2023 ell faculty fellow at calarts and is the associate director of beyond baroque literary arts/center. they live in los angeles, on unceded tongva land, with their partner gladys, and schnauzer, olive.
Iván Salinas is a poet born in el DF and raised in the valley. Iván is a poet and co-editor of Drifter Zine, a theme-based publication showcasing local artists & writers. His work has been published in The Acentos Review, Mobile Data Mag, La Raíz Magazine, and elsewhere both in print and online. He is the events manager at Beyond Baroque Literary Center and he is working on an extended edition of his zine, Dealer: prosa carcacha. He lives in Panorama City with Madi and their dog, Rocket.
Genesis Perez is queer Chicana poet and performer from Oxnard, California. From 2019 to 2020 they were the Youth Poet Laureate of Ventura County. They released their debut collection of poetry Flash Photography in 2021. Perez has performed at .Paak House, Beyond Baroque, and Da Poetry Lounge.
Rhiannon Cielos Chavez is a trans-masculine whitewashed Mexican from Los Angeles, California. They read their first chapbook, Beer Hunter (Armadillo Pussy Press), at the 2023 Oregon Fringe Festival. Their work has been published by Angel Rust, Club Plum, and zines & things. Rhiannon often thinks of their father, who now sits next to God and their childhood dog.
Maestro Gamin began developing his poetry sometime in 2009/2010 after attending Vibrations writer's group. He soon began attending open mics across the southern Los Angeles and Downtown areas, such as Lost Souls Cafe, The Monday Speakeasy, World Stage, DPL, Natural High (flight school), Our Mic, and Freedom of Speech Thursdays. He lives and rides his bike in Los Angeles.
